On C4D 11.5 there is an option in the Collada export menu that is not checked by default but that I found to be required. I needed to check: Export triangle in order for it to work. Thanks for great the tutorial!

That was a good tutorial. Do you have any hints or tips on getting animation into paper vision. I had my ordering wrong in C4D with the still but now I have added bones and animated it. am I opening a can of worms or is there a solution? Please point me in the right direction
